How do I get the Spindle off this Goped?
1) First, unplug the spark plug cap so the engine does not start.
2) Take off the rear wheel.
3) Remove the gas tank nuts and lay the tank on the deck. You do not have to remove the fuel lines.
4) Using vise grips, hold the old spindle and loosen the hex bolt which holds it on.
5) Squirt WD40 in the hole that you just took the bolt out of and let it sit for 15 minutes to soak in the oil. Use this time to check your front brake, check the
tightness of your deck hardware, whatever. Just relax and let the oil do its job...
6) After 15 minutes of oil soaking, see if the spindle will wiggle off. If not, take a hammer and beat the hell out of it...Oh!! NO DON'T DO THAT! Lightly tap the base
and partway up the spindle. Turn the spindle and tap some more. You may have to do this several times. DO NOT hit the spindle real hard or you might break your
crankshaft and that would suck. After a few or more taps, the spindle will simply fall off
7) Pick it up and heave it hard against the wall for giving you such a hard time before reading these simple extraction instructions. (Back)
Stock Carburator Adjustments:
Try this with your Stock Carb to see if it fixes things:
1) Clean off all road gunk from around your carb before you take anything off so as not to get gunk inside the carb and screw things up further.
2) Go to any auto parts section of a K-MART or TARGET and get some Carburetor Cleaner spray best to get the good stuff from an auto parts store if one is near you.
3) Take off your Air box and remove and clean the filters...clean the filters in warm soapy water then rinse and dry completely.
4) Take off your carburetor making sure you do not lose the gasket. Clean the gasket and around the opening
5) Clean your entire carb with the Carb cleaner spray, inside and out.
6) Reinstall your carb and gaskets and airbox.
7) Adjust your carb carefully by the top screw, the black top screw on the top of the carb. This is the screw that turns along with the throttle linkage.
- To adjust the screw, first screw it in all the way - NOT TIGHT but until you feel that it is screwed in all the way (Rightie Tightie, Lefty Loosey).
- Next, unloosen, the screw 1 and 1/2 turns.
- You can tell how to unloosen it 1 and 1/2 turns by first looking at the angle of the groove on the screw, as you back it out 1/2 turn at a time and keep that same angle
you can tell when you have loosened it 1 and 1/2 turns.
This should give your carb new life and you might not need a new one. (Back)
Replacing your Rubber Tire...Really Simple Stuff
We sell replacement rubber which is an economical way to keep running your ped and if you're like us you smile even more when you save bucks!!
1) All you do is take a hack saw and carefully cut off the remaining rubber (do not cut while holding it in your hand), careful not to cut into the hub… (make sure your
hub and bearings are still good and fully operational otherwise you should replace the complete wheel)
2) Next put the new rubber tire flat on a surface and smear a little dishwashing soap around the inside to lube it up a bit.
3) Next lay your hub on the top of the wheel and with a screw driver work the hub into the rubber all the way around laying FLAT with about 1/4 inch of the rubber started around the rim.
4) Lastly, place the whole thing on the floor and STOMP EVENLY down on the top of the hub TWICE hard and really FAST. The rubber should schloop right down into place over the hub.
5) And you now have a perfectly good wheel. (Back)

GoMix and Other Oil/Gas Blendings:
To operate GoMix; Squeeze one (1) GoMix packet of oil into your GoPed® tank. Visit Scooters Accessories to order oil packets for your gear.
When you receive the packets they have instructions printed on each so you wont likely make a mistake. If you prefer to keep your GoMix or Viza packets in your
pocket or saddle bag for on-the-go gas ups, you can also pre-mix 2-cycle oil & gas mix at a 25:1 ratio in larger 2 gallon quantities in a separate gas canister – this is what we do.
If you already have 2-cycle engine lawn equipment, you can generally use that oil/gas mixture in your GoPed® but please make sure the mix is 25:1, you use high-test gas,
and you consume all the gas in the can between all your 2-cycle products within one month. That way you are using the freshest gas available.
If you don't already have 2-cycle lawn equipment, make sure you get chain saw or other air-cooled engine 2-cycle oil and not outboard since a chain saw is air-cooled
just like the GoPed® and will holdup better than outboard oil whose engine's are water-cooled. (Also, make sure when you get the oil it is not chain oil for chain saws,
it must be the 2-cycle engine oil for chain saw). On the packaging of the 2-cycle oil, you can read how to mix for a ratio of 25:1.
Please let us know if you have any other questions on your oil/gas mixture (Back)
Gotta Bent Kickstand??:
A bent kickstand problem is a very common first-user problem. The kickstand is not meant to hold any substantial weight at all, however, many new pedders or their
friends stand on the deck while on its kickstand which bends the stand forward. This makes it very difficult to start when it is bent since it does not lift the rear wheel
off the ground!! You can fix this problem very easily by
1) Screaming at your poser friends when they just stand there on your ped while on its kick stand
2) Remove the kick stand from the frame and take the looped end of a crescent wrench and "hook" it against the extended tip on the top of the stand. This is the tip
that goes back and rests against the metal deck rest which is welded to the frame. It is easy to bend this tip back in shape using the crescent wrench as a lever
3) Then put the kick stand and spring back on the Goped and your good to go. (Back)
Spark Plug Gap Settings for your Goped or Viza Scooter:
The gap setting for an NGK spark plug used on the Sports,Liquimatics Bigfoot Go-Peds and the Viza line of products is > 0.025 inches or > 0.650 millimeters
Tire Adjustment of the Sport and Liquimatic GoPed®
One of the most important adjustments on a Sport or Liquimatic GoPed® is the rear wheel adjustment. Please check out the following step by step tutorial to assist you in
learning this important and very simple process:
Rear Wheel Adjustment for the Sport and Liquimatic GoPed®
1) Open quick release axle to unlock and allow free movement of wheel (wing nut may need to be loosened also).
2) With Quick Release Axle opened and loosened, rotate purple engine protection washer (EPW) down, away from rear gas tank support stud.
3) Apply up to 75 LB of weight to rear part of GoPed® deck (one knee on the "D" works pretty good) with rear wheel on the ground. (To apply proper wheel/spindle contact).
4) Rotate engine protection washer (EPW) up to contact rear gas tank stud while weight is still applied, this will prevent overload to engine bearings and crankshaft.
5) Lock Down quick release lever with snug pressure. This will lock axle in position until readjustment is required.
Note: Adjusting your tire before it goes out of adjustment will increase tire life dramatically. Not properly or often adjusted you will eat through rubber way too fast!
Note: Failure to use engine protection washer correctly can cause engine crankshaft breakage or engine bearing failure which might not be covered under warranty and is a very expensive repair!! (Back)
